Where.
New Zealand’s farmers take the utmost care of their sheep. Raised across the beautiful plains of New Zealand, the landscape provides the optimal nourishment and conditions for the flock. The fresh cool climate produces a course, higher-quality wool; meaning, a beautiful, longer-lasting carpet for your home, which is both warm in winter, and cool in Summer.
-
What.
Unlike many other carpets on the market, woollen carpets are natural. Many carpets available for purchase in today’s marketplace are composed of artificial properties which can be damaging to our environment.
Wool is naturally stain resistant, flame resistant, hypoallergenic, sustainable and a natural insulator.
Due to the climate and quality farming practices, New Zealand sheep produce the whitest wool in the world meaning truer colours in your carpet. However, due to the changing climate and landscape throughout the year, wool can have subtle variations in colour. This is why woollen carpets come in ‘batches.’ We take care to ensure the carpet for your home is consistent and the uniform batch provides consistency.

How.
Spinning into yarn is the twisting technique where the fibres are drawn out, twisted and wound onto a bobbin (video below). Carpet is produced in a variety of styles and colours in the manufacturing process.
